Sorry about the radio silence recently, I have no idea where the time has gone.
Lots has been going on since my last update, I completed two additional half marathons, set a 10km PB and went on my first ever “active holiday” to Club La Santa. I have also been entered into the Manchester Marathon (It was a Christmas gift).
I have to admit, Manchester was not my first choice. My first choice, along with 100,000+ people’s first choice was the magnificent London Marathon. But unfortunately, for the 5th time in a row, the computer said no (just as an aside, it was my husband’s first attempt at entering, and the computer said yes to him! Grrr)! In my search for an alternative Spring Marathon, I came across many favourable reviews for Manchester and I was sold.
So far marathon training has been going OK, but recently I have hit a bit of a motivation blip and for the first two weeks of this month my mileage seriously fell. Granted I was suffering from the after effects of a cold, but still, it was bad. Hence why I am resurrecting the blog. I am hoping that you will help keep me honest, and as a result make my journey to the Manchester Marathon finishing line that little bit easier.
My aim is to blog at least once a week on a Sunday and give you all a recap of my running week; the good, the bad and the ugly. Personally, I hope that the ugly will be kept to a minimum, but as Paula Radcliffe said “in the marathon, anything can happen”.
Until next time, happy running
